Smash something
Feel better.

A rage room and mindfulness experience. In-person in Pittsburgh or virtually from anywhere. Built for the energy that has nowhere to go.

Built from lived experience.

It's a labor born of love and my own experience as an autistic adult who spent years looking for somewhere to put the energy that meltdowns and overwhelm create in the body.

Growing up, my body would be screaming at her to kick, punch, slam, or swing, but she grew up in a house where emotions were to be hidden and dealt with alone, quietly. So she turned to maladaptive coping instead. The urges never left. The healthy outlet just didn't exist yet.

Occupational therapists note that throwing and smashing provide deep proprioceptive feedback. Forms of sensory experience that are deeply regulating. Josselyn built these workshops to give that experience to other people, wrapped in journaling, intention setting, and mindfulness so that it becomes more than just destruction. It becomes movement through something.

"I feel passionately that somatic outlets exist for these feelings that will help ease them and regulate the nervous system."

Break Thru Pittsburgh
Rage Room

I run a rage room out of her garage called Break Thru Pittsburgh. It's part sensory experience, part mindfulness practice, and it came directly from my own experience as an autistic adult who spent years looking for somewhere to put the energy that meltdowns and overwhelm create in the body.

Sessions combine the deep proprioceptive feedback of throwing and smashing with journaling, intention setting, and mindfulness exercises. You're not just breaking things. You're moving through something. I have tailored workshops for grief, rage, stress, breakups, and big life transitions.

Over 100 people have attended. Almost everyone reports feeling calmer, lighter, and more regulated afterward.

Rage Room
at Home

Not everyone can make it to Pittsburgh, and I beleive in the benefits of sensory impact and exertion should be accessible to everyone, not just people in her garage.

Rage Room at Home is a virtual workshop that teaches you how to channel intense feelings using safe tools and inexpensive equipment you already have, or can easily get. No broken glass. No danger. Just the same regulating, grounding experience, adapted for wherever you are.

Josselyn developed this because she wanted people to have a toolkit they could return to independently (not just a one-time experience). The workshop gives you that.

More than just breaking things.

Each session combines the physical release with structure, so you leave having actually moved through something, not just vented.

01

Intention setting

You start by getting clear on what you're bringing into the session. What you're carrying, what you want to release, what you're moving through.

03

Journaling and reflection

After the physical work, you ground back in with journaling prompts and mindfulness exercises. The energy moves through, not just out.

02

The physical release

Throwing, smashing, and impact. The proprioceptive feedback that signals safety to your nervous system. This is the part your body has been asking for.
